We are a driven team focused on guaranteeing our students success in the exam hall and beyond.

The Learning Suite London (LSL) is an educational centre in Stratford, Ilford and Forest Gate. Our mission is to empower students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to achieve remarkable academic success. LSL was founded by a few members of the local community who attended top-tier universities and attained careers in some of the most prestigious city firms.

Through our time in the city, we recognised the lack of representation from our community, despite stellar grades. LSL was therefore formed to ensure students from our community not only achieve outstanding grades, but are also able to pursue exceptional careers.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many pupils per tutor?

On average, our class sizes are four pupils per tutor, with a maximum number of six per class. By keeping the student to staff ratio low, tutors are able to provide attention to each student.

Are all lessons in line with the UK national curriculum?

Yes. All lesson and homework resources are in line with the new Ofsted framework. Additionally, with our head tutors being qualified and experienced teachers, we are always up to date with the latest teaching methodologies and techniques.

Where are the centres based, and when do the lessons take place?

Our classes take place every Saturday (09:30-13:30) at our Stratford centre, and every Sunday (09:30-13:30) at our Ilford centre. Private tuition takes place throughout the week – please contact us for more details.

How much do the lessons cost?

Our prices are dependent upon your child’s year group. We firmly believe in providing quality at an affordable price. On average, our classes cost £15 per hour. Please contact us for more details.

How will my child’s progress be monitored?

Every student will have a unique journey to academic excellence. To help guide our students on their path, we offer “real-time” feedback, flagging performance at a high level to facilitate positive reinforcement for good performance or to inform more detailed conversation with parents and guardians if required.

How often will I receive feedback on my child’s performance?

A high-level review is conducted at the end of every session for our students, flagging tailwinds and headwinds to their progress. We also offer more structured feedback sessions covering a minimum of six weeks of sessions. Call us to book an over-the-phone appointment with one of our managers or education consultants to hear any feedback on your child’s progress.

Are your tutors DBS checked?

Yes. In line with our child safeguarding policy, we ensure that all of our tutors hold a valid Enhanced DBS in order to adhere to strict child safety regulations set out by the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Are your tutors qualified?

Yes! Further than this, our tuition centres are comprised of actual qualified teachers, including leadership from top local state schools. Our tutors also undergo continuous professional training to ensure they meet our rigorous teaching standards and practice, reflecting our ethos.

Do you provide homework?

Part of our ethos is that studying is most effective when practiced “little and often”. Therefore, we aim to provide our students with one hour of homework per subject per week.

What abilities and key stages do your tuition centres cater for?

We cover all key stages (KS1, KS2 & KS3) as well as GCSEs and A-levels.
We believe with the right attitude and enough time; any student can achieve academic excellence. We therefore cater to all abilities.

How do you ensure that my child focuses on their studies?

As our success is predicated on providing an environment that is conducive to learning, we operate a zero tolerance policy towards disruptive behaviour in classes and our tutors have full discretion to remove a student from a class if seen to be disrupting the progress of their peers.

What do you mean by ‘Independent Learning’?

Our centres support independent learning in a variety of ways, including detailed feedback on homework; which has been found to improve students’ confidence in working independently, and helping students identify their own learning styles.

This provides our students with a skill which is highly valued both at university and the workplace.

What happens if my child misses a session?

Thats fine! We are happy to roll over missed bookings. One of our site managers may reach out to ensure all is well, and to provide additional homework to ensure your child continues to progress.

Why book monthly?

Our monthly fee is heavily discounted when compared to weekly bookings. All bookings (monthly or otherwise) include worksheets to be worked through at home, regular feedback and access to our professional network*.

*only available for pupil who have been with our centres for more than 3 months.
