Ofsted-Registered Childcare

Claim up to 85% of your tuition fees

Learning Suite London is registered with Ofsted as a childcare provider. That means eligible families can use government childcare support — Tax-Free Childcare or Universal Credit — to help pay for our tuition.

Ofsted-registered tuition at Learning Suite London

What is the Ofsted childcare allowance?

Because Learning Suite London is an Ofsted-registered childcare provider, our tuition qualifies as approved childcare. Working families can therefore put government childcare funding towards their child’s education with us — reducing the real cost of high-quality tuition at our Ilford and Stratford centres. There are two main schemes, and you use whichever one you are eligible for.

Tax-Free Childcare

For every £8 you pay in, the government adds £2 — a 20% top-up. You can receive up to £500 every three months (£2,000 a year) per child, or up to £4,000 a year for a child with a disability.

Best for working families who are not claiming Universal Credit.

Universal Credit childcare

You can claim back up to 85% of your childcare costs, up to a monthly maximum of £1,071.09 for one child and £1,836.16 for two or more children.

Best for families already receiving Universal Credit. You cannot use both schemes at once.

How much could you save?

Your saving depends on which scheme you use. Here are two illustrative examples — one using Tax-Free Childcare and one using Universal Credit childcare support — each based on £2,000 of tuition over a year.

Universal Credit childcare

Figures are illustrative and based on current government rates. Tax-Free Childcare is capped at £500 per child every three months; Universal Credit childcare is subject to monthly caps and eligibility. You can use one scheme or the other, not both — always confirm your entitlement at gov.uk.

Who is eligible?

Eligibility is set by the government, but in general you may qualify if:

  • You (and your partner, if you have one) are working and each earn at least the minimum threshold but under the income cap.
  • Your child is under the upper age limit for the scheme.
  • You are using an Ofsted-registered provider — which Learning Suite London is.
  • For Universal Credit childcare, you are already receiving Universal Credit and in paid work.

How to claim

  1. Check your eligibility and set up your account at gov.uk (Tax-Free Childcare) or through your Universal Credit journal.
  2. Ask us for our Ofsted registration details — just contact your centre and we’ll provide everything you need.
  3. Add Learning Suite London as your childcare provider and pay your fees through the scheme.
  4. Enjoy the saving — reinvest it in your child’s learning.
Please note: This page is for general information only and is not financial advice. Government childcare schemes have their own rules, income limits and caps that can change. Always check your eligibility and the latest rates on the official gov.uk website before making any decisions.

Frequently asked questions

Is Learning Suite London Ofsted-registered?

Yes. We are registered with Ofsted as a childcare provider, which is what allows eligible families to use government childcare funding towards our tuition.

How much of my tuition fees can I claim back?

With Tax-Free Childcare you get a 20% top-up (up to £2,000 per child each year). With Universal Credit childcare support you can claim back up to 85% of your costs, within the monthly caps set by the government.

Can I use both Tax-Free Childcare and Universal Credit?

No. You can use one scheme or the other, not both at the same time. We recommend checking gov.uk to see which leaves you better off.
